I got/am getting screwed
- CRA denied my request for T4s after documents were stolen, despite providing required details (SSN, name, DOB, address, and prior-year tax docs).
The CRA has consistently denied my request to provide me T4's after a family member stole and tried to use my documents to open accounts in their name. I have provided all required documents as requested on the CRA website, including Social Security Number, Name and Date of Birth, Complete Address and "Other Tax Documentation" from previous years of filing.
They have hung up on me and accused me of not being myself. I have no idea how to obtain my T4's to file my taxes as, due to the previously mentioned theft of my tax documents, I am unable to create an account with the CRA.
They require specific documents from last years tax info, which I obviously do not have, as it was STOLEN. I am on the *** of getting a tax lawyer involved as they literally do not recognize me and simply hang up as I have been calling for YEARS to try to obtain the documents I am LEGALLY entitled to.

- Many staff seem to lack knowledge.

CRA doesn't care what happened. They have a lot of employees who has no clue what they are doing.
They will go and reassess your return with some improper information. Drag your benefits until it get fixed.

- Hours of attempts, still unable to complete online services.
- Sign-in shows 'unavailable at this time' and 'An unexpected error' occurs.
after trying many many times, for many hours, I am completely unable to succeed using online services. I think this is to stop fraud, unfortunately it also stops me.
I would need many pages to tll of my experience. But here is one example: when an online form is completed often it is followed with an error, this session has timed out. Not true, but took me many times to figure it out. Also why let me struggle to sign in, only to show unavailable at this time, and give no clue as to when.
Or my personal favorite, An unexpected error has occured, I see most errors are expected? What nonsense.

- Terrible waiting time with CRA; issue unresolved for a week.
- Cannot take 4 hours off work; long hold times and calls hung up.
Terrible waiting time. I have been having an issue since a week ago with CRA, that I couldn't resolve early because I truly can not do this if a have to work.
In a normal day, I don't have a window of 4 hours open to this errand.
So I'm spending my hold day off, to call CRA and after 2 HS waiting the hung up my call. So I'm in square one wait another 2 HS, praying that this won't happen again.
Terrible system, time to improve it.
